BEIJING, Dec 15 (Reuters) - China's employment situation will be 'very serious' in 2009, as the country struggles with the impact of the financial crisis at home and abroad, President Hu Jintao was quoted saying late on Sunday.
'Next year's employment market will be very serious, affected by the international financial crisis,' the official Xinhua news agency quoted Hu as saying during a visit to an employment service organisation in the northeast rustbelt province of Liaoning.
Our top economic target next year is to maintain a stable and healthy growth,' Hu told provincial officials.
'We should be clear about the serious challenges and difficulties from home and abroad but also realise the great opportunities and favourable conditions in (them).'
